When will we receive the death certificates?
For a death within New Jersey the family usually receives the death certificates within a week to 10 days. For an out of state death it can take up to a week longer.
Is it appropriate to send flowers?
It is not usually appropriate to send flowers to a Jewish Funeral. The family may request that donations be made in the deceased’s name to a favorite cause or charity.
Should I bring anything if I’m going to Shiva?

If you’re going to someone’s house for Shiva it is appropriate to bring an offering of food, as the family is expected not to cook during this time. In respect with Jewish tradition, the food should be Kosher Certified to meet the mourners’ religious requirements.

I’m going to a Graveside Service, where do I go?
When going to a graveside service everyone will meet up at the Cemetery office and then proceed to the grave together.
Do we need to notify Social Security?
When we register the death with the state of New Jersey, Social Security is automatically notified.
