Barbara Shapiro (nee Novak) passed on Sep 29, 2024, age 80.

She was a brilliant and caring mother, grandmother, Jets Fan and fisherwoman, loved crossword and other puzzles and was passionate about women’s rights. Barbara attended college at CCNY, received a Masters from Hunter College, was a teacher and guidance counselor in NYC public schools and supported her husband’s psychology practice as its office and finance manager and editor of his published articles.

Barbara is survived by her children, Jesse Shapiro (and his spouse Danielle), Sima Abrams (and her spouse Robert), and her grandchildren (Zac, Ilan and Leo Shapiro and Sarah Abrams) who loved her and will miss her dearly.
