Edith Gabai, (nee Greenberg), age 89, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 5, 2022.  Edith was born in Manhattan and grew up in the Bronx. She married Gary Gabai on May 3, 1953 in Manhattan and they lived in Washington Heights, NY.  The following year they moved to Fair Lawn.  Edith was an avid Mah Jongg player and enjoyed trips to Atlantic City, time with her friends and making holiday and birthday dinners for her family.  She is survived by daughter, Karen Kirsteuer and her husband, Tom, daughter Laurie Babij and her husband Andy, and son Steven.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Michael Altfield and his wife Sana, Jennifer Schlett and her husband Eric, Rachel Babij and her husband Joe Koerwer, and Dana Babij and her partner Brian Heller, and great grandchildren, Adam, Athena and Sophia. 

The Gabai family greatly appreciates the nurses, aides and staff of Valley Hospital Hospice.
