Esther Biren – 11/18/1927 – 3/19/2019.  Daughter of Ida and Samuel Henerson and widow of Irving Biren, to whom she was married for 63 years.  Survived by daughters Shelley Berger and Melissa Biren, son-in-law Rob Agree, and grandchildren Isaac Biren Agree and Brenly Roland, Ava Biren Agree, Adam Biren Agree and Kathleen French. Esther was involved in secular Judaism from birth.  She grew up in the Workmen’s Circle (Arbeter Ring) and was an engaged member all of her life. She was a founder of Kahal Chaverim, New Jersey Congregation for Humanistic Judaism, serving as a Board member, officer and program leader for many years.  She was a life-long learner, graduating from Brooklyn College as an adult and continuing her education at County College of Morris for over a decade. She loved to read, participating in two book clubs in Mt. Arlington where she lived, and was an active member of the L’Chaim club in Succasunna.
