General Information

Full Name: Gail Nussbaum Kaplan
Date of Death: Friday, July 19, 2024

Gail Nussbaum Kaplan was, in a word, remarkable.  Possessed of great intelligence, beauty and an inexhaustible supply of compassion, devotion and dedication for family and friends.  Once and always concerned with the well being of others over herself.

If you were among those fortunate enough to find favor with Gail, and there were hundreds who did, you knew you had a fierce protector who would share in your joys and sorrows as if they were her own. She was relentless in her determination and passionate in her attention.

Her husband of more than a half century, Jimmy, her children Brett and Lindsay, her daughter in law Lindsi and son in law Peter mourn her loss. Her grandchildren, Harrison and Josie got to feel the warmth of her love for too few years. And, remarkably, her granddaughter, Hollis Gail, was welcomed into this world one day after her grandma left. As if this were Gail’s last gift to us all. Her brother, Robert, her sister in law, Joanne, her nephew Richie, niece Alex and her husband Brett, along with all her cousins in the Smith family, will forever deeply miss Gail’s presence.

In the days and years to follow we will all remember Gail Nussbaum Kaplan and be forever grateful that we were given the privilege to know and feel her love. While a light has been extinguished, what she gave us will remain in our hearts forever.

Gail died peacefully, at home, surrounded by those she most loved, on July 19, 2024.  Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at 10:30 AM at Temple Emeth, 1666 Windsor Road, Teaneck, New Jersey.  Guests are invited to the graveside burial after at Cedar Park (735 Forest Avenue, Paramus, New Jersey).
