Herman B. Schneider (Hy) passed away on January 9, 2023. He was born on
November 17, 1923 in Jersey City, New Jersey. He served in the Army in England
during World War II. After the war, he attended New York University. He met
Marilyn Bernstein in Belmar and they were married in 1950. Marilyn and Hy
moved to Teaneck where they raised their family. Hy worked for 35 years in the
family furniture business.
Hy lived a full and happy life. His greatest joy came from his wife, children,
grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close friends. His last
few years were spent at the Jewish Home Assisted Living in River Vale were he
found great personal and spiritual happiness.
Hy is survived by his daughter Debra Schneider (Jerry), his son Mark Schneider
(Phyllis), his granddaughter Molly Bachner (Adam), his granddaughter Sarah, his
grandson Aaron (Yarden), and his great-grandchildren Mason and Asher. May
his memory be a blessing.
