Irwin S. “Cubby” Cohen, age 96, of River Edge, NJ, formerly of Brooklyn, NY, passed away peacefully on
December 28, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.
Beloved husband of Gloria (nee Fleischer) for over 68 years. Devoted father of George and his wife
Lauren, Adam and his wife Debbie, and Doug and his wife Nadine. Cherished grandfather of Emma,
Linda, Henry, Josh, Allie, Briya, Adena and Ben.
Funeral services will be at 12pm on Friday, December 30, 2022, at Temple Avodat Shalom, 385 Howland
Ave., River Edge, NJ. Burial to follow at Beth El Cemetery, Paramus, NJ., after which the family will
receive guests for a Meal of Condolence at their home.
Cubby was a charitable person who gave to many worthy causes. Donations in his memory may be made
to the charity of your choice, or to the “Cubby Cohen Memorial Scholarship” at River Dell High School,
which the family is establishing to honor his legacy of many decades of service to the school.
