Irwin “Sonny” Keller, 93, Paramus, passed away on August 28, 2022.
Beloved husband of Marilyn for 70 wonderful years. Devoted father of Gary
(Robbin) and Laurie (Henry). Very proud grandfather of Julie & Michele (Ian). He
also leaves behind many loving & beloved nieces & nephews. He was
predeceased by his brother, Howard, and sisters, Babe & Charlotte.
He lived on the Lower East Side of Manhattan until he was 12 and then moved to
the Bronx, where he met his future love of his life, Marilyn. After getting married,
Sonny & Marilyn lived and raised their kids in the Bronx. Once the kids were gone,
they moved to Yonkers and eventually found their way to Paramus.
After graduating from vocational high school, Sonny was able to find various jobs
until he was drafted into the Army to serve during the Korean War. After leaving
the service, he found his calling as a salesman of plumbing supplies, where he was
able to use his outgoing personality, his wry sense of humor and gift of gab to its
utmost.
He was a long-time member of the Knights of Pythias, Claremore Lodge, and the
Claremore Lodge bowling league. He also joined the Men’s Club of Brightview
Senior Living upon his arrival to Paramus. He was a lifelong fan of the NY Yankees
and playing gin rummy.
Memorial donations in memory of Sonny may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s
Hospital or Shriner’s Hospital for Children.

    I send my deepest sympathy. Sonny since I was born was one of the greatest people I had in my life. My heart breaks for Laurie, who took care of me as a child, to Marilyn who I have loved since birth and Aunt Arlene who I love dearly.
