General Information
Full Name: Irwin M. Nessanbum
Date of Death: Monday, February 7, 2022
Irwin Nessanbaum, at the fresh cross-fit-age of 71, passed away Monday night, 2/7/2022 in his Hackensack apartment embraced by his family. This career perfumer had friends from professional settings to napping under trees at his community pool. He wouldn’t hesitate to let you know that he could hold a five minute plank and was always the last one on the dance floor. He was a loving father, coach and mentor to anyone around him. As an elite athlete, at Fairleigh Dickinson University, he instilled discipline and drive in both his daughters, Sara and Amanda. He was passionate about fundraising and was quite the socialite in most recent years. Kathy, his forever person, will remember his unwavering dedication to his work and his family. His mother, Ruth, survives him, their antics certainly will be missed.

Our heartfelt condolences to Irwin’s family and his many friends. His humor and intelligence will be missed. May his memory be a blessing and may he rest in peace.
I am so saddened by the loss of my lifelong friend, Irwin. I met him at his father’s beach when I was thirteen and reconnected with him through Facebook about ten years ago. My heartfelt condolences to Kathy, Amanda, Sara and Ruth–and to anyone who was lucky enough to call this kind, gentle, wise and funny man their friend. Irwin was a ray of sunshine to all of us who were lucky enough to know him, and he will be sorely missed.
Deep condolences to Kathy, his girls, Ruth and all who loved Irwin. May solace be found in your many great memories.
To a talented Perfumer, kind and funny soul. It was an honor and privilege knowing and working with you. Good bless you and your family.
Our hearts go out to Irwin’s family and friends. We will miss seeing him around the Ivanhoe. May his soul rest in God’s eternal peace.
I met Irwin for the first time only about 10 years ago. He knew my wife Miriam from having grown up together in Vineland. They had not seen each other in many years when we just happened to run into him one day on the beach on Long Beach Island. I felt an immediate connection with him as if he and I had been life-long friends. He was a kind and gentle soul with a wonderful, playful sense of humor. He talked often and with great pride of his daughters and his grandson whom he loved dearly. I feel so very fortunate to have known Irwin and will miss him terribly. Rest in peace my friend. To the family: Your loss is great but I hope your memories of Irwin will bring you some measure of comfort.
