General Information

Full Name: John Torres
Date of Death: Sunday, February 2, 2020

John Torres was one of five siblings, born on June 8, 1961, in Los Angeles, California. In his early years he lived in Miami with his siblings attending Miami Private, in Miami, Florida. After moving to Paterson, NJ and attending school there, his family then moved to Fair Lawn, NJ and attended Fair Lawn High School. During his time there, he truly enjoyed art and drawing, and created such beautiful pieces. He also adored fishing and always enjoyed his time in and near the water with friends, and mostly his family. And he loved sports too, especially basketball and ping pong. He was always up for a good competition and showed his prowess whenever he had the chance. Music was another love of his. You could always hear him singing along to gospel songs with his father, and to any and all of the oldies on the radio. He was always caring and helpful, especially, with his mother, and his father in particular, who he missed dearly after his passing this past September, 2019. He was a member at Calvary Temple International in Wayne, NJ and tried to attend as often as he could but in his last few years, and with his battle with cancer, he slowed down a bit. He did suffer for quite a few years of his life, but kept hanging on because of his strong spirit and positive outlook, all throughout life’s difficulties. In the end he passed with his family all around him, filling his room with love. He passed on Sunday, February 2, 2020, at 1:25am with his family there by his side. We will miss him dearly and now his body will eternally reside in heaven with that peaceful easy feeling that he always sang about.

Viewing and Service will be at Louis Suburban Chapel on Friday, February 7 from 4 to 7pm and he will be buried with his father, Israel R. Torres at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, 350 Province Line Road, Wrightstown, NJ, 08562
