Josephine M. Belsky passed away peacefully in her sleep on August 11, 2023 in her home at Spring Oak Living.  Known to her friends as ‘Josie’ she was born in  September 1929 in The Bronx to the late Sam and Guiseppina Colasanti.  

Josie worked at various jobs throughout her life, including The Book of The Month Club in New York where she met and fell in love with her husband, Frank.  When Josie moved to Fair Lawn, NJ, she remarried and started working at TotalComp until her late 80’s.

Those who knew Josie knew that she was an avid fan of Frank Sinatra and knew all the words to all his songs.  Besides singing, Josie enjoyed dancing, telling jokes, and watching old movies.  Her lifetime favorites were ‘You Make me Feel so Young’ and ‘I did it my way.’

She had two sisters Angie and Mary; and her brother Tony who all passed away before her.

Josie is survived by her two sons, Steve (Linda) and Jim, and a niece and 2 nephews.  She also leaves behind her close friends Mary Lynn and Amy and her family and friends at Spring Oak Living.

Private services will be held for the immediate family.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her honor to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, P.O. Box 1525, Ranson, WV 25438 or to the Bergen County SPCA, P.O. Box 4111, South Hackensack, NJ. 07606.
