Laurie Levine, age 64, of Hackensack NJ, formerly of Closter, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, surrounded by family. Beloved wife of Daniel Levine for over 41 years. Devoted mother of Rachel Green (Nathan) and Michael Levine. Adoring grandmother of Asher, Ellie, and Mason. Cherished daughter of the late Martin and Celia Siegel. Survived by her sister Carol Kurtzer (William) and predeceased by her sister Robin.
Laurie devoted her life to raising her family. As an avid baker with a playful sense of humor she brightened many a festive gathering. When she wasn’t playing funny practical jokes on her family she enjoyed hiking, swimming, and calligraphy. She was ebullient, cheeky, and tenacious. After a stroke in 2013, she discovered her Zen in jewelry making at the Adler Aphasia Center and in playing with her grandchildren.
Donations in memory of Laurie Levine may be made to the Adler Aphasia Center in Maywood, NJ or to Congregation B’nai Israel in Emerson, NJ.

To: Dan, Rachel, Michael and family: we are so sorry for your loss. We met Laurie in 2017 after meeting her wonderful husband Dan who is my half brother I just discovered at the time. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family. She will be missed.
