Lillian Feiler (nee Lester), age 100, passed away peacefully on November 1st, 2023, surrounded by loved ones. Born in London, England on December 13th, 1922, to Hyman and Rebecca Levi, as the youngest of 6 children.
A statuesque athlete, her childhood in England was filled with her affinity for climbing trees, keeping up with her four brothers and enjoying some girl time with her older sister and female friends. During WWII, working for the British Navy, she met and later married her husband, Captain Samuel Charles Feiler- a 101st Airborne Paratrooper stationed in England, and then relocated to New York City in the United States in 1946, where they started a family.
With a constant thirst for knowledge- particularly in healthcare, Lillian obtained her High School GED and later an Associates Degree in Nursing from Bergen Community College after moving to Teaneck, NJ in 1953. Always a woman of resolve and independence, she imparted her wisdom and savvy in navigating New York City to her children and grandchildren, made the best meatballs and stuffed cabbage and enjoyed the little things like a good cup of tea , watching Wimbledon tennis tournaments and visiting her favorite hair salon. She also loved performing in and attending musical events. Never afraid to speak her mind, she left an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Lillian is predeceased by her husband of 50 years, Dr. Samuel Charles Feiler, her siblings Eric Lester, Morris Lester, Harry Lester, Doris Werner and Solomon “Sonny” Lester. She is survived by her two (2) sons, Dr. Kenneth Feiler (Judy) and Leonard Feiler (Rhonda) as well as her daughter, Nadine Silverstein (Richard). Lillian has eight (8) cherished grandchildren, Dr. Cheri Silverstein Fadlon (Yariv), Lori Fluger (Andrew), Elyse Sentner (Grant), Dr. Alana Feiler (Tracey),

In addition, she had wonderfully dedicated and longtime caregivers, Angela, Jennifer, Erika and Juliana.
