General Information
Full Name: Lillian Grossberg
Date of Death: Wednesday, February 3, 2021
Lillian Grossberg (Prashker) passed away at the age of 98 on February 3rd, 2021. Lillian was born in New York City on April 29, 1922 to Miriam and Roman Prashker. She remained a “New Yorker” at heart even after moving to Paterson, NJ when she married Samuel Grossberg. She has lived in Fair Lawn for the last 50+ years and thoroughly enjoyed many of the benefits of being just a bus ride away from the Broadway shows and museums across the river. In her later years, she was an active member at the Fair Lawn Senior Center and made the most of the opportunities, events, programs and concerts that were offered in the community.
Lillian is survived by her brother and dear friend, Ivan Prashker and his wife Crede; her two daughters, Marilyn Ehrentraut and Suzanne Grossberg, and three granddaughters, Jennifer, Kimberly and Amanda Ehrentraut. Her mother and younger brother Stanley passed away when Lillian was a young girl and she is also predeceased by her sister Shirley Richter, whom she loved dearly. She is survived by several nieces and nephews who she enjoyed keeping in touch with through letters, phone calls and visits over the years. Lillian had many friends from all walks of life and truly cherished each and every one of them. She always appreciated the thoughtfulness of her neighbors as well as the accommodating mini-bus drivers of Fair Lawn and the occasional passersby who kindly helped her along the way. Her independence and longevity was attributed to an active and healthy lifestyle of walking, swimming, traveling and socializing.
In lieu of flowers, we will be sponsoring a park bench in Lillian’s name at the Fair Lawn Senior Center. Please contact her daughter Marilyn or email at BenchForLil@gmail.com
