General Information

Full Name: Morton A. Greene
Date of Death: Monday, January 20, 2020

Morton Greene (of Wayne, NJ) passed away peacefully after a short, but intense, battle with lung cancer, at Hackensack Hospital, January 20, 2020. Morty was born in 1937 in Brooklyn, NY to Rose and Irving Greenberg.  After four years of going steady, Morty married Anne Rosen in 1961. They spent the first year of their 58-year-marriage in Germany while Morty served in the Air National Guard. Morty’s charm and magnetic energy served him well in the active sportswear industry, where he enjoyed a successful career. Morty’s life was filled with an abundance of family, golf, theatre, mambo dancing, scotch, and story-telling. His love for music was well-known, but his passion, knowledge, and ear for Jazz is unsurpassed. He is well-loved for being an optimistic, generous, hip, and classy gentleman. Morty will be dearly missed by his wife Anne, sister Sylvia, children Jordan and Jane, Matthew and Cathryn, Frances and Jeremy, and the pride of life, his grandchildren, Olivia, Ben, Hannah, Shea, and Lila, along with many cousins, nieces and nephews, friends who became family and strangers who became friends. Everyone he met connected with him and felt lucky to have known him. He will be greatly missed.
