It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Paula Delia Torres, who left us on July 25th, 2024, at the age of 99. Paula was born on June 29, 1925, in the beautiful town of Jayuya, Puerto Rico. She spent a remarkable 99 years spreading love, kindness, and warmth to everyone around her.

Paula is survived by her beloved children: Nereida, Neftali, Salvador, Aurea, Radame, Julia, Jose, Merylinda, Carmen, and Edwin. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernesto, and her cherished sons, Salvador, Jose, and Edwin Torres. Paula’s legacy is carried forward by her 31 grandchildren: Willie, Bethzaida, Dari, Veronica, Fernando, Samuel, Maritza, Ruben, Daniel, Hector, Daniel, Rosemary, Ceasar, Alex, Brenda, Ricardo, Luisa, Junior, Maritza, Agnes, Rafael, Carmen, Iliana, Graciela, Giselle, Jennifer, Jackie, Annie, Bethzaida, Kelvin, and Melissa. Her love and warmth extended to over fifty great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, all of whom she adored immensely.

As a devout Roman Catholic, Paula’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a dedicated housewife and a nurturing mother who always prioritized her family’s well-being. Growing up in Jayuya, Puerto Rico, Paula later settled in Paterson, NJ, in the early sixties, where she created a loving home filled with the aroma of home-cooked meals and the warmth of freshly brewed coffee for anyone who walked through her door.

Paula’s profound care and affection for her family made her the matriarch of the Torres family, a role she embraced with pride and devotion. She will be remembered for her boundless love, generosity, and unwavering support for her family and friends.

Paula’s memory will be cherished and celebrated at a viewing on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at 10 am at Louis Suburban Chapel, 13-01 Broadway, Fair Lawn, NJ. She will be laid to rest at 22-21 Maple Ave, Fair Lawn, NJ.

Paula Delia Torres will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
