Philip Gould, 88, January 19th. Born in Jersey City, Philip resided for 62 years in Paramus, with wife, Linda Ringel Gould, to whom he was happily married for 64 years. Devoted father to daughter, Gaye Gould (predeceased), who lived in Phoenix, AZ, with husband, Dr. Peter Hogan, and son, Mark Gould, who lives with his wife, Meg, in Weehawken, NJ. Devoted grandfather to Berit Hogan and Margeaux Gould. Predeceased by his brother, Larry (Elaine). Leaves many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Philip graduated Dickinson High School in Jersey City, attended NYU at night, and served 2 years in the U.S. Army in Germany. His sense of organization, dedication, punctuality, and efficiency enhanced his long career as a successful salesman. An avid reader, Philip devoured science fiction books daily. He had a great sense of humor and a knack for telling jokes. He was extremely handy and had the ability to fix most anything. Phil also loved to tell stories of his childhood growing up in Jersey City, spending wonderful summers with his extended family at their house named Maldeb, in Pine Bush, NY, the adventures of his incredibly smart dog named Boots, and his experiences and travels while serving in the Army in Germany. His enthusiasm and his ability to remember so many details brought these stories to life for all who had the opportunity to hear them. Phil enjoyed skiing with his family and friends, travelling to many ski areas over the years throughout the Northeast, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, California, Canada, Italy, and France.

Funeral services took place at Temple Avodat Shalom, River Edge, Jan. 22nd, followed by shiva at his home. Contributions in Philip’s memory can be made to Temple Avodat Shalom, Adler Aphasia Center, Maywood, or American Cancer Society.
