Richard Landau, 78 of Hackensack, passed away on June 3rd , 2023.
Married to Wendy for 32 years. Devoted father of Josh and Max. Proud grandfather of Hank and Bernie. Loving brother of Patricia. Was predeceased by Jack & Shirley Landau. He also leaves behind daughter-in-law Brittany, his Aunt Loraine, cousins, nieces, nephews and Zu-Jitzuka that he taught all over the country.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Jack, his mother Shirley, his aunt Bernice, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Richard worked as a buyer in the garment center for most of his life and then later as a long-term health care insurance specialist. Something that would eventually help provide the care he needed at the end of his life. He was a member of Army Reserves prior to the Vietnam War. He was a passionate teacher of martial arts under his instructor, Bob Martin. He took pride in teaching self- defense to children, women and the disabled. His mantra in the dojo and in life was, Whatever Works!
His loyalty was never wavering and was the most reliable person to have in your corner at any hour of the day. His strength, resilience and light will be greatly missed.
