I had a decades long friendship with the Zwern family. I remember Ms. Zwern as a disciplined yet loving mother and wife to her son Micah and Husband Elias.
She largely kept to established routines but was by no means a boring or average person. She was quick with an instructive anecdote about her early life in Berlin and how the lessons she learned from that early life held her in good stead in later life and were instructive and applicable to everyone. She had a good, Strong heart and despite challenging medical conditions later in life, she Never complained or felt that she was somehow singled out for a bad fate.
She was ALWAYS appreciative of a kind word or gesture. Cordial, thoughtful with that Charm and elegance that characterized people born in Middle Europe. A Wonderful, fair minded and exceptional woman.
