General Information
Full Name: Anna Aloyets
Date of Death: Tuesday, February 24, 2026
We pay tribute in loving memory to Anna Aloyets, born September 3, 1946 in post-war Kiev, Ukraine. Born to Etla Abramovna Kaplan (Zhenya) and Abram Aloyets (Naum) Aloyets, she was the youngest of three children. She was raised with her older brother and sister, Fima and Zoya, whom she loved very much. Growing up in Kiev, she experienced vast anti-semitism but always managed to push ahead and excel academically. After high school, she bravely traveled by herself to central Russia, a two-day train ride away from her home, to study engineering at University in Rastov na Danu. Anna excelled in math and engineering, and upon graduation returned to Kiev for her first engineering job and to raise a family.
At 26 she married, and in 1973 she gave birth to her first daughter, Natalie. Four and a half years later she had her second daughter, Marina. Anna loved her daughters with all her being, always protected them, and pushed them to reach their best potential. In 1979 Anna, with her young family, and along with several of her first cousins and their families, emigrated to the United States and settled in Brooklyn, NY. Again, Anna excelled and pushed through the challenges of raising her young children in a new land, quickly learning English, and securing her first engineering job in America. Anna always worked very hard as a mother, aunt, sister, grandmother, wife, friend, and professional engineer. She was able to balance all roles in her life, and always helped those in need around her. Anna loved with devotion, and fostered very close friendships all over the world from Kiev, Russia, Israel and Europe. She was always ready to help and to be a confidant to those she knew and loved. Anna was a fighter who lived her life with purpose, and with an energy that her family and friends often marvelled at.
Anna was predeceased by her parents and her sister Zoya. She leaves behind her husband Simon; daughters Natalie (Craig) Artel and Marina (Max) Savransky; nieces Larissa, Alla and Alina; brother Fima and sister in-law Zina; and her most cherished grandchildren Joshua, Ilana, Jacob and Sarah.
We will miss our mother and matriarch very much. May her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
