Arthur Leonard Bergman
February 11, 1946 – October 12, 2025

Arthur Leonard Bergman, 79, of Leonia, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025. Born in the Bronx, New York, on February 11, 1946, Arthur spent his life surrounded by family, friends, and the laughter he so often inspired in others.

Arthur built a long and successful career in hotel management, serving for many years as manager of the Holiday Inn in Orangeburg, New York, before becoming President of Merchants Choice Payment Solutions. A natural people person, Arthur approached his work and his life with warmth, humor, and genuine kindness. He was also an owner of a Dunkin’ Donuts franchise in Rockland County, proudly fueling his community—one cup of coffee at a time.

Arthur was light-hearted and fun-loving, with a knack for making others smile. He adored his family, especially his nephews and niece, to whom he famously promised a trip to Great Adventure—a trip that, despite years of anticipation, never quite happened. That running joke remains a fond and fitting memory of his playful nature.

He loved dogs, particularly his devoted companion Autumn, and enjoyed Broadway shows, concerts, and the company of good friends. His warmth, wit, and generosity will be remembered by all who knew him.

Arthur is survived by his sister Beverly Joroff and her husband Joel, his nephews Steve Joroff (and wife Jill) and Mark Joroff (and partner Nancy), his niece Stacey Joroff, and by Imara, Noah, and Jenna Joroff, all of whom loved him deeply.

A celebration of Arthur’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the care of Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn, New Jersey and Beverly Joroff (bev@joroff.com).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Arthur’s memory be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society to support research and care for those living with MS:

Arthur’s humor, warmth, and big-hearted spirit will live on in the many lives he touched—and in the laughter he continues to inspire.
