General Information
Full Name: David B. Morris
Date of Death: Monday May 18, 2026
Born on April 5, 1934 in The Bronx, New York, David Morris lived a wonderful life full of loving relationships. David was raised in Long Beach New York with his parents Harold Morris and Vivian (Feldman) Morris, and his younger brother and lifelong friend, Joel Morris. David passed peacefully and surrounded by his family on May 18, 2026.
David was an ambitious achiever from his earliest days. He cleaned beaches and worked boardwalk arcades as a teen and put himself through Hofstra University, working as a chauffeur. He then earned an MBA from New York University and went on to become both a Certified Public Accountant and a Chartered Financial Analyst. He was a highly successful financial analyst and stockbroker, and in the mid-80s outperformed thousands of peers to become the United States Trading Champion. But none of these ongoing achievements or his successful career defined David’s life. David’s life could best be captured with three words – family, friends, and fitness. David was dedicated to his health and the wellness of all the people he loved. He played sports, swam, worked out, and could be found pumping away on his elliptical trainer into his 90s. But as everyone who knew him could tell you, David loved tennis. David played tennis continuously from the age of 20, well into his 80s. He played with his friends, many of whom affectionately referred to him as “Captain Dave”, for his willingness to lead teams in local leagues. David’s eagerness to share tennis with his family leaves a legacy of tennis lovers that extends down to his grandchildren. But David’s true legacy is his family and his friends. David married Renee, the love of his life and center of his world, in 1965. Renee, the most caring wife any man could be lucky enough to have, made an incredible life for David and their entire family. They were married for more than 60 years and maintained that level of love and connection until his last breath. Their love story was one for the ages.
The family that he and Renee created includes their loving children Ian and Jennifer, their spouses Lisa and Andrew, who he considered children of his own, and their five grandchildren Hannah, Ben, Kaylee, Adam, and Robbie. Additionally, he served as an honorary grandpa to many others in his extended family. There is nothing that David wouldn’t do for his family and that love was reciprocated by every single one of us who loved him, revered him, and can’t imagine a world without him. His love was unconditional and without bounds. His wit was unmatched – sharp, creative, and incredibly funny. You never knew what was coming, just that laughter was imminent. And whether by nature or by nurture, he passed that wit, love, and caring down to his children and grandchildren. David’s life is a testament to the idea of what it means to love. David enjoyed many things, but what mattered most to him was the people he loved – his family, extended family, and friends. So long as they were safe, happy, and healthy, David was overjoyed and wanted to share every moment and every memory with them. David Morris will be dearly missed.
