Ellen was a wonderful and special sister ( in law) to me

She was a beautiful person inside and out

I really got to know her in her later years and we became friends

I wish I had had more time with her but feel so lucky I had the time I had when I did

I remember when our son went to college near Ellen and Steven in Long Island. They were so kind and supportive, and made Glen and I feel great that we had family nearby

Ellen and I connected on many levels. I understood her role in the family as the oldest child and the responsibilities and anxiety it carries.

I do believe these roles create the people we are, and it gave her the gift of warmth and caring, although it carried great stress for her with it, as well for me.

She had great strength and tenacity and love and I loved the way the three sisters were there for each other and brought me into their fold.

When my mom passed last year, it was the 3 of them that sent me a red cardinal which I treasure and look at every day. I feel so lucky to have them and all of their families in my life.

Ellen – you are at peace now, out of your pain and distress

Your family is wonderful and strong and will be fine and are there for each other. Because you built a strong base for them to have.

Rest in peace and know you are very loved. Your memory will live on forever

    Love Debbie

I grew up close friends with Ellen’s younger sister, Iva, but I remember that we always looked up to Ellen. Approximately 15 years ago my husband and I were shopping in a Costco on Long Island and I saw Ellen and her husband. I told her she looked exactly the same as I remembered her, same face, same smile, same voice… It had been decades since I’d last seen her and yet she was such a big part of my young life that her visage stayed with me… I send my condolences and love to Ellen’s family, especially to Iva and Bonnie… may her memory be for a blessing and may the family be comforted and find strength in their memories of her…
