It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of George Harold Gropper, beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Thursday, February 20th, at the age of 89.

George was a loving and dedicated husband to his wife, Joy and a proud father to his three children, Jeff Gropper (Jill), Andrea Millner, and Karen Bartlett (Jeff) and 7 grandchildren, Zack, Molly, Tyler, Jamie, Jordan, Jackson and Harrison. He cherished his family above all else and found true joy in spending time with them, caring for his pets, a caretaker and took great pride in his work.

A man of many interests, George had a deep passion for current events, history, science, and geography. He kept up with the world around him, always eager to learn and engage in thoughtful conversation. George was a hard-working individual who believed in giving back to his community. He was actively involved in volunteer work, lending his time and energy to Habitat for Humanity and the small business administration organization, SCORE. George also proudly served his country as a member of the United States Coast Guard Reserves.

George was a creative entrepreneur who always had the best ideas and inventions for so many different things and that gave him so much enjoyment throughout his career.

His legacy will live on through the many lives he touched with his intelligence and family values. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

For those of you inquiring, we will be having a Memorial Service on Sunday, February 23 honoring George at Louis Suburban Jewish Chapel.

The family will be in the greeting room at 2:30pm and the service will start sharply at 3:30pm.
