General Information

Full Name: Jill Hollander
Date of Death: Friday July 31, 2026

Jill Lynn Hollander 1980 -2026

Jill Hollander, loving wife, daughter, sister, aunt and friend, has passed.

Daughter to Myron (deceased) and Ceceile Hollander, sister to Joy Hollander-Fink, wife of Daniel Poletick, aunt to Dylan and Jax Fink, and friend to many.

Jill was born and raised in Wayne, NJ and graduated from Wayne Hills High School. Jill attended SUNY New Paltz and received her graduate degree from Montclair State University in Speech Language Pathology. Jill was married to Dan Poletick in August of 2018. She welcomed her niece Dylan Fink in 2010 and her nephew Jax Fink in 2013. Her family was the most important thing in her life.

Jill was a fighter by nature. She was born with a heart defect and had her first operation as a baby. When she was 18 Jill received a heart transplant. As a transplant recipient she took great care of her donor heart for 28 years, twenty years longer than expected. Although her life was cut short at the age of 46 she lived life to the fullest. Jill went to college and received her masters, she got married and traveled the world. She laughed and danced like her life depended on it.

Jill was an amazing advocate for herself throughout her medical journey, and for her friends and family, and clients, whenever needed. The world was a better place with Jill in it.

In lieu of flowers please consider making a donation to Renewal.org. A nonprofit that specializes in living organ donation. Our family knows two people waiting for a kidney transplant at this moment. Every dollar donated goes towards helping people in need of a transplant. You can donate here:

I have known the Hollander family for many years. My sister and Joy are best friends, and I had the privilege of teaching Jill math at Wayne Hills HS the year that she had her heart surgery. I tutored Jill on bedside during her surgery and recovery, and what I witnessed was nothing short of miraculous. She handled herself with confidence, strength, and such grace that her example made a lifelong impression on me that I have never forgotten. When Jill had her surgery, I was pregnant with my oldest daughter who in her childhood was diagnosed with various health problems. From time to time I would run into Cis and she would give me advice on how to deal with raising children among adversity. Jill’s amazing will and sheer determination to succeed in her every endeavor and the support of her beautiful mother and sister gave me insight on how to proceed in my own life with my children. Jill was a positive role model for all of those who knew her. Thank you to the Hollander family for letting her light shine on the rest of us.
