Joseph Weisfeld (92), loving husband, devoted father, and dear grandfather, and longtime resident of Fair Lawn, New Jersey passed away peacefully surrounded by family on January 25, 2025.  Joseph was the beloved husband of Elaine [Adrian] for almost 65 years, whom he cherished and adored.  Father of Steven [wife Amy] and Heather [husband Scott] and cherished grandfather of Danielle [husband Conrad], Ryan and Melissa.  He is predeceased by his sister, Anne, mother Dora and father Samuel.

Born in Newark, New Jersey, he and his wife moved to Fair Lawn in 1962, where they raised their family.  Always a voice of reason, he was known for his devotion to his family, intelligence, work ethic and wry sense of humor.  After graduating from Rutgers University, he received his Masters in Chemistry from New York University, and PhD in Chemistry from Seton Hall University.  After working at Inmont as a Chemist, he spent the majority of his career as Technical Director of Kohl & Madden, a division of Sun Chemical, a role he greatly enjoyed. During his retirement, he developed a deep passion for the music of his youth, being an adjunct professor of a music class for 15 years. Joseph was well liked and respected by his colleagues and all who knew him.  He also loved spending time with family and friends at holidays and outings, often hosting, with his wife, big holiday dinners with cousins. Throughout the years, he enjoyed attending events of his children and grandchildren, of whom he was very proud.

The funeral will be held on January 28, 2025 at Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn at 11:00 a.m.

Shiva will be held on January 28, 2025 at 173 Mohawk Drive, River Edge, New Jersey after the conclusion of the services to 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. -9:00 p.m.  It will also be held on January 29, 2025 at 16-27 Eberlin Drive in Fair Lawn from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. -9:00 p.m.
