It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joyce Barbara Bruk, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and dear friend.
Joyce passed away peacefully at the age of 83 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born on February 7th, 1942, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Her early years were shared with her younger brother Gary forming a bond that was both unbreakable and filled with love. Joyce was known to all who knew for her intense warmth, deep affection, and unwavering love. She touched the hearts of all who knew her. These qualities illuminated the lives of everyone she encountered leaving a lasting impression on their hearts. Her time working at Stepping Stone Day School, an early childhood special education school, were some of her favorite days. Her life was filled with love, laughter, and an unsurmountable affection towards others.
She is survived by her beloved husband Benjamin Bruk; her cherished children David (Shari) Wachs, Jennifer (David) Ober, grandchildren Noah and Joshua, Jayden and Jesse, Jordan and Nikki, her stepchildren Jordan and Daniel and their children.
A memorial service will be held at Louis Suburban Chapel in Fair Lawn, New Jersey on March 28, 2025.
In Lieu of flowers, contributions in Joyce’s memory can be made to Stepping Stone Day School. Stepping Stone Day School is a not-for-profit preschool program for children with special needs located in Queens, NY. All donations will be used to support the children in their classrooms and therapy sessions. Joyce will be deeply missed; her absence leaves a void that will be felt forever. Her legacy of love and affection will live on in the hearts and memories of all who’s lives she touched so deeply.

We are so saddened and send our sincerest condolences to Jennifer and David and their families. Joyce was a wonderful step mother and a loving wife to my father. We will miss her and cherish the memories of the joy and happiness she brought to everyone who knew her. Rest in peace Joyce.
Joyce’s bright light will always be remembered and cherished by all who knew her. She is a wonderful part of my memories at SteppingStone Day School. While I have missed her since she left, I will miss her even more now. Sending love to Joyce on her heavenly journey and to all who knew and loved her.
