General Information

Full Name: Larry Eisenberg
Date of Death: Sunday, January 25, 2026

Larry Eisenberg, of Paramus, New Jersey, passed away on January 25, 2026, at the age of 91. He was born on June 19, 1934, in Brooklyn, New York, where he also grew up.

Larry attended the High School of Music & Art in New York City, where his artistic talents were evident at an early age. At just 16 years old, he was offered an art scholarship to Yale University. Encouraged by his mother to pursue a more practical path, he instead chose to attend Columbia University, where he majored in Pharmacy.

After working as a pharmacist for one year, Larry followed his true calling into medicine. He enrolled at Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri and went on to complete a residency in anesthesiology at Mount Sinai Hospital in Manhattan. Early in his medical career, Larry delivered several hundred babies and spent many years specializing in obstetrical anesthesia, a role that reflected both his technical skill and his steady, compassionate presence.

Later, Larry settled in Englewood, New Jersey, where he lived for 37 years and raised his children, Derek and Rebecca. He devoted himself to both his profession and his family, building a life rooted in care, dedication, and quiet accomplishment.

Around the time of his retirement, Larry returned to his first love—art. Painting became his great joy. He spent winters in North Miami, where he kept a second easel and created some of his most cherished work. His art reflected the same thoughtfulness and depth that characterized his life.

Larry is survived by his son Derek and daughter-in-law Christine, his daughter Rebecca and son-in-law Ron, and his five beloved grandchildren: Max (fiancé Christina), Camryn (fiancé Brandon), and Victoria Eisenberg, and Sophia (partner Ethan) and Delilah Papka.

He will be remembered as a devoted father and grandfather, a respected physician, and an artist who never stopped creating.

A meal of consolation will follow nearby at 4101 Promenade Blvd, Building 4, Fair Lawn, NJ 07410.

Dr. Eisenberg was a cherished member of our family. Taking my brother in as a second son throughout his high school and college years he was a guiding light. In his regal manner, I will never forget the humor and intelligence he constantly displayed while I was around him. God bless you, Dad Eisenberg for all you’ve done for our family. May your spirit soar with the eagles.

I met this handsome man when I moved to Englewood, New Jersey with my two children Michael and Patricia. No sooner was Michael at school when he met Derek Eisenberg at 10 years old knowing that they were inseparable. They ate many meals at Larry’s home. You could not separate the two of them. They were like two peas in a pod. Larry many times came to my apartment which was on the second floor asking where is Derek? Where is Derek? and that’s where I looked at him and said oh my dear, what a lovely, handsome man. I have one of his paintings which I now will cherish, and when I think of him, I will pray and bring back memories of all the years I have known him. In life not too many people stand out, but Larry was one of them. He was a cherished dad. He always watched the direction his children were going and gave them the best role model you could ever have. I love you, Larry. God bless you and I’ll always think about you your old friend Anna.
