Lynn Dell, of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, March 25, 2025 at the age of 85. Lynn was born on July 16, 1939 in Paterson, New Jersey. 

She was married to Charles Dell for 28 years, and had  two children, Marcy Dell Frederico (Nino) of Orlando, Florida and Michael Dell (Honey) of Denver, Colorado. She was the proud grandmother to her three  granddaughters, Samantha, Julia, and Brianna. She was the loving sister of Joy Kurland (Leon) of Parsippany  New Jersey and aunt to Meredith Ross (Matthew) of Randolph, New Jersey and her grand nieces Hayley and Chloe. She was predeceased by her parents Martin and Henrietta Goldstein. She also leaves behind her cousins Linda Miller, Stephen Goldstein, and their families. 

She grew up in Paterson, New Jersey and received her bachelor’s degree from New York University in Education and her master’s degree from Seton Hall University in Advanced Education with a focus in Counseling and Special Services  where she had an article published in a major journal.  She later obtained her Sixth-Year Certificate in Education from Kean University. She taught high school initially in Paterson, and then for over 30 years in Elizabeth, New Jersey until she retired in 2002.  She later moved to Solivita in Poinciana, Florida where she was an active member of the travel club, book club, singles club, the Red Hatters, and the Solivita Democrats.  She also played in a band while in Solivita, putting on many performances. She loved traveling abroad, cruises, eating out, and talking about politics.  Some of the many destinations included China, Thailand, Vietnam, England, France, Tahiti, and Israel.

Lynn was extremely dynamic and intelligent, and had many diverse interests and talents including, playing piano by ear since the age of three, playing guitar, singing, songwriting, sewing, reading, and baking the most delicious and scrumptious desserts.  She was extremely passionate about politics, initially running for Republican Committeewoman in the 1970s and later changing her affiliation to the Democratic Party. She volunteered at Planned Parenthood,  was a large supporter of NARAL (now called Reproductive Freedom for All), and the Concord Coalition, a bipartisan organization advocating generationally responsible fiscal policy. She would often exclaim, “I’m doing this for the younger generation!” and would often say, regarding her prior  Republican party affiliation, “I didn’t leave the party, the party left me.” 

A graveside service for family and friends will be held on Friday, April 18th at Riverside Cemetery in Saddlebrook, New Jersey at 1:00 pm.  Following the service, there will be a celebration of her life and shiva at the home of Joy and Leon Kurland, 22 Stephen Terrace, Parsippany. 

Anyone wishing to make a donation may do so in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the Democratic National Party via Act Blue.
