Marion Rosenstein, née Bard, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 3, 2026. She was born on June 18, 1945, in New York City, to her beloved parents, Max and Helen Bard. She is survived by her son Steven, daughter-in-law Lara, grandchildren Andrew and Benjamin, twin sister Joan Howard, brother-in-law Sean Howard, nephews and other beloved family. She is preceded in death by her husband Norman Rosenstein (d. 2017).

Marion grew up in the Bronx. As a young child, she battled and beat polio. She graduated from Theodore Roosevelt High School and then from Queens College, becoming the first in her family to graduate from college. After college, Marion became a dedicated elementary school teacher in the Bronx for more than 30 years, including working as a math specialist. Marion was also a teacher’s union representative, which embodied her lifelong interests in looking for leadership roles and taking a stand for what she deemed was right.

After marrying Norman on February 17, 1974, Marion moved to Fort Lee, New Jersey, where they raised their son. Shortly after retirement, she moved to Boca Raton, Florida, where she built a community of cherished friends. Marion spent her last years in the warm community of Brookdale Emerson.

A highlight of Marion’s life were her cats, which became the centerpiece of her homes. She was very interested in politics, which she took from her father. Marion enjoyed reading (which sadly was impacted in her later years by macular degeneration) and playing board games, especially Rummikub. Most of all, she took tremendous pride and joy from the lights of her life, her grandchildren Andrew and Ben.
