General Information
Full Name: Ronald Blatt
Date of Death: Tuesday, November 26, 2024
Ron Blatt (5/27/42-11/26/24) aged 82 was born in the Bronx to Maurice and Lillian Blatt. He resided in New City, NY until his passing. Ron grew up working for his father at Blatt Billiards, taking over after his father passed, he worked hard to continue to grow and expand the company until he retired.
Ron retired in 2015 and was able to enjoy all the passions he loved in life; he was a life long jazz and art enthusiast, enjoyed fine wine, fast cars, and a good cigar. Ron attracted artists and musicians who gravitated towards him for his love and appreciation of their craft. He was opinionated, stubborn, and blunt to a fault; at the same time had the biggest heart, kindness, and wisdom that he shared with everyone around him.
He is cherished and survived by his fiancé Helen Blitz, his children: Paul Blatt, Shelly Blatt, Lisa Sinclair, and Hugh Sinclair, his grandchildren: Maxx Blatt, Sarah Benamy, and Nora Sinclair. He will be laid to rest next to his beloved late wife Linda Blatt, who passed away in 2008.
His memory will live on in the hearts of those he touched throughout his life.

I can’t remember a time where Ron and his wife Linda were not a part of my life. I fondly called them my #2 parents as I spent so much time in there home. My greatest memory of the two of them was when they attended my wedding. I say goodbye to my Jazzfather.
Met Ron and Helen on a cruise, arranged by my wife Micheline, to celebrate my 70th birthday. From that meeting we formed a special friendship. We visited each other’s homes and smoked too many cigars together. My lasting memory will be watching the Olympics together this year at our home in Toronto. I will miss him deeply. Have a good trip to the humidor in the sky.

Ron was a one of a kind, kind of guy: fun loving, kind hearted, loving and caring! We loved him dearly as we spent many memorable occasions with you and his family. We loved his weekend cookouts , 4th of July, birthdays or just lazy Sundays!! His adventures to the Blue Note ,Berkshires, and Leed East in New Jersey for an Oldes weekend..
We are so , so sorry for your loss and hope all the memories you have will be a comfort and blessing for you. Sending hugs! Send our love to Paul and Shelley.

Ron was a great friend who was like a brother to me. His love and caring for his family and friends was unrivaled. He was a lover of all music Jazz being his favorite and his love!
We loving called him the “Whistler” because he would whistle or sing he favorite songs at jam sessions or whenever the moment was right.
He once told me it was his sister who got him interested in Jazz by playing him records at an early age.
To the family: I loved Ron dearly and his passing is major to me and my family. When you mourn we will be mourning as well as our are also broken. However he’s no longer in pain.
