Salek “Sal” Spector, 89, of Monroe Township, NJ, passed away peacefully on April 2nd, surrounded by his devoted family.

A loving and dedicated husband to his wife, Gay, for 58 years, Sal was a cherished father to his daughters, Nadine, Sabrina, and Stacy, a beloved father-in-law to Dave and Jeremy, and a devoted grandfather to Alex and Julia. His family was the heart of his life, and he embraced his roles with unwavering love, kindness, and generosity.

Born and raised in Brighton Beach, Brooklyn, Sal proudly served in the United States Army for three years before embarking on a distinguished 48-year career as a community pharmacist and business owner. He and Gay made their home in River Vale, NJ, where they built a life of service and deep familial bonds. Hosting countless barbecues and family parties. 

An ardent lover of classical music, Sal was a gifted French horn player and a dedicated member of the Ridgewood Symphony Orchestra for 37 years. His passion for the arts extended beyond performance. He was a devoted patron of the New York Philharmonic and the New Jersey Symphony, finding profound joy in the beauty of orchestral music.

Sal’s life was rich with cultural appreciation. He traveled the world with Gay and found inspiration in art, and history. Embracing the world with a sense of wonder and a deep connection to his Jewish heritage. Whether surrounded by family and friends, immersed in music, or exploring new places, he lived each moment with purpose and passion.
